You can choose how Safari handles downloaded files.
Open Safari if it is not already open.
Choose Safari > Preferences, and then click General.
Choose options from the “Save downloaded files to” and “Remove download list items” pop-up menus, and select or deselect “Open ‘safe’ files after downloading.”

Changing your downloading preferences may change where other web browsers on your computer download files.
