If some Safari features aren’t available, or you’re asked for a password when you try to use the features, parental controls may be turned on for your account.
When parental controls are turned on, you might be asked for a password before you can use the Bookmarks menu or search field, type a web address, view websites that aren’t in the bookmarks bar, or change the bookmarks or view the bookmarks library.
Turn off parental controls
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences.
If you have Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, click Accounts.
If you have Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, click Users & Groups.
Click the lock icon and enter an administrator user name and password.
If you don’t have an administrator name and password, ask the person who set up your computer for help.
Click your account name.
Deselect the “Enable parental controls” checkbox.
Click the lock icon to prevent further changes.
